In short, we are all doing good.
I was induced on the 20th and I have to say, the contractions weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be, but they still hurt really bad. I did get an epidural--which I would highly recommend, but unfortunately right before I started to push Cache turned sideways and my epidural quit working as well as it had been...then it REALLY got painful! Holy smokes, I thought I was going to die. I tried to get everyone to let me quit--I kept yelling "I can't do this anymore" to which Jon replied, "your almost done!" (for an hour and a half). Haha. Jon was really great through the whole thing, I just wasn't loving the pushing part. Anyways, I wasn't making any progress with the pushing so they had to use a "vacuum" to get him out. His poor head was so bruised! Anyways, it was quite the experience, I don't even really remember all of it, but he's here and that's all that matters.
My mom came and stayed with us for about 2 weeks which was SO nice! She did all my housework, made yummy meals, kept me company during the day, and woke up with me in the middle of the night. She can come visit me whenever she wants! Haha.
We've been on our own now for a couple weeks and occasionally I feel extremely sleep deprived, but for the most part he sleeps really good at night! --Knock on wood-- In fact, sometimes I think I should wake him up more often in the middle of the night to eat...but I haven't done it yet. Haha. Nursing is going good as well (TMI?? haha). The only thing that stinks about nursing is that he does seem to not like certain things I eat so I'm having to stay away from some stuff, but oh well. He is becoming more alert which has been fun too! I have been taking quick little trips with him, but I'm totally paranoid about germs so I always keep him covered up and I try not to touch him until I can pull out my hand sanitizer and de-germ myself. That probably sounds crazy, I know. I haven't taken him to church yet-I just know people will be in his cute little face and it makes me nervous just thinking about it. We're blessing him in about 2 weeks though so I guess I'll have to get over it soon!
And just because a post is not complete without a picture...

Oh Mallory, he's a keeper alright! Yep, you sound like a very happy momma. Great job with all that extra during labor too...you go girl!
Going to church wasn't so bad for us. But we didn't pass her around. Either Kurt, I, or Kurt's parents were holding her. And after church when people came over I just had hand sanitizer out and I think only 3 or 4 people actually ended up holding her. If you're still stressed just give a good bath right after.
A gal (who used to be in my ward), had a baby a year ago. When he was first a baby and she brought him to church for the first time, she told people he couldn't be held even though he had no health problems. She didn't want people crowding around him and they didn't. People didn't even ask to hold him.
oh mallorie you are too funny! The whole germ thing is hillarious....dont worry about it too much, they can tolerate more than you think. But i guess its better to be careful I am glad you are doing great. Time sure does go fast. If you need anything let me know, we will be down there soon..
SOO glad to hear an update that echos your texts that you're doing good. I get so worried about you and I really hoped you weren't lying to me and just telling me you're doing good but if you post it on your blog too then it MUST be true!
